Matika Inaka, a Mulihiku piece representing a gorge type hook used for ocean fishing, these are the most common type of carved Pounamu taoka found in our kaik in the south, reflecting the mahinga kai practices that were the basis of our ancestors way of life, and were usually carved from Wakatipu Inaka from the Te Koroka source.
